Scott Pearse - Director

As a Registered Design Practitioner in NSW, my focus has always been apartment renovations. I've been renovating my own apartments since 2014, I've completed four personal renovation projects and about to start my fifth. I love the life apartment living gives me. 

Since founding TightKnit in 2021, I've watched the complexity of apartment renovations increase - new strata regulations & the design and build practitioners act - the burden of paying for this additional paperwork and compliance has fallen to home owners. 

The projects I work on don't have massive budgets and so finding creative ways to get homeowners into their dream space has been a big priority. I can't operate my business as others in the industry do, it's simply unafforable for the clients I want to serve. 

I had a couple of clients who were very capable of running their own projects, basically they just needed my guidance. I charged them my hourly rates, had phone calls describing the next steps, connected them with our trusted project partners. It felt good empowering someone to deliver a home for their family and the cost was dramatically less than if I had provided my usual level of service. 

I've found a new way to provide my service, as a guide rather than a manager. I think of myself as a renovation coach - from design to the approval process to finding a builder - If you want to be in control of your own project, I want to help you do that.
